Why wouldn't we build an in-house team straight away?

  • Do the maths: look at the salary costs for senior software people and calculate their hourly rate. It’ll be similar to our discounted rates and that’s assuming you can find the right people.

  • Quality assured. We remove your risk of dodgy hires, spin up time and cultural misalignment. Let us get you up and running so you can take your time building your internal team.

  • Protect your IP from leaving the building with disgruntled ex employees. We’re still making your product for you and the IP is safely held by you as part of our working contract.

 

We're not ready to give up equity.

  • If you're not ready to give up equity, you can tap into the brains-trust of the venture team at the start (for a fee) without us taking any equity.

  • Make a decision at the end of that process if you want to proceed with an equity and fee (or fee only) based deal.

 

Will you take control of our company?

  • We generally seek less than 10%.

  • We don't seek a board seat.

  • We're a strategic partner.

  • We're looking to advise, not take control.

 

You are still charging fees as well as equity. You are not taking any risk.

  • We’re risking our current profits. The market for software delivery has been red hot for 10+ years. We, like other established teams, have our pick of work, so to give up our full fees and margin is a lost opportunity cost.

  • You've got something tangible at the end of spending the money. You're increasing revenue opportunities by getting something out there quicker.

  • We take a stake in the business, so we want to see it succeed.

 

You're not global. How do you know all of this if you're just based in Perth?

  • We're located in Perth, but the team are global.

  • We have years of experience building software businesses.

  • We're business people too.

  • Value for money compared to international partners.

  • There's a lack of profile in Perth, but the capability is there.
